Vox Hunt: It's A Guilty Pleasure

Show us your guilty pleasure.

You really have to wonder with some of these Vox Hunts. I'm sure I've answered this question before (worded slightly differently).

The answer, of course, is chocolate.

Today's guilty pleasure was a Hot Ball - a scoop of vanilla icecream with hot chocolate fudge on the side. As Homer Simpson is want to say..

mmmmmmmmmm..... Chocolate..... aaaahhhhhhh

The reason for this indulgence? My son earned a free meal at The Pancake Parlour for getting an A in Math (the only kid in his year to do so).

I hadn't been there in years so I treated myself to a raspberry spider, deluxe cottage fries and a hot ball.

Roasted turkey

I was in charge of the Christmas Lunch this year. I pre-ordered a turkey, bought ham and prawns and vegies. I even made stuffing acording to my mothers recipe.

They even went into the oven at the right time. Zenophran's family came over and we ate and had lemon meringue pie. We opened presents and I kicked them out mid-afternoon :)

Then we went to my folks for tea. This involves yet more turkey and ham. AND PAVLOVA!

mmm.. meringue and cream.. ahhhhh..

I am soooo full!!!

At lunch every day, Janet_Mayfire, Taldals and I go to the local mall to eat and shop. We were doing just that today when we noticed bright colours reflecting from a nearby shop.

A specialist make-up shop!

OK, so this is kind of a big deal. The only make-up stands in this mall are at the department stores, and even then they only deliver the latest fashion colours.

This one had purple and green and blue and SPARKLES!!

I bought a lipstick, that matches a shirt I bought yesterday.

I think we'll be going back before the Christmas Party to get a make-over :)

Remembrance Day

Today is Remembrance day. At 11.00.00 we stop to remember all the soldiers who died in WW1 (and all other conflicts).

It is also my mother's birthday, which makes it easy to remember.

My youngest sister and I took my parents (and our respective partners) to a Turkish restaurant in Manuka called Mecca Bah.

It was really yummy. We started off with turkish brad and dip, entrees included sweet potato felafel and ended with a main of garlic chicken.

We were all stuffed afterwards, so we went for a stroll along the main cafe street. We got kinda distracted at a little music shop called Abels, which has a really good collection of blues and jazz.

In other news, Bon Jovi tickets go on sale this week *cross all fingers and toes*
