If you were stranded on an island, what five books would you bring?
submitted by CJP
Well, I'd prefer to take 5 books I hadn't read yet. That would certainly help pass the time!
But if it's my 5 most re-readable books, then these would be it.
- The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
- Dirk Gently's Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul
- One of the Georgette Heyer novels.. don't ask me which one. I usually pick them at random.
- Harry Potter (ok,ok they're addctive)
- The Eyre Affair.
How could I resist and offer like that?
I even have a special icon for the occasion. For this special occasion, you can have 2 quotes.
Technology is a word that describes something that doesn't work yet.

I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

What's one of your favorite quotes?
Submitted by Georgie-boy.
"Time is an illusion. Lunch time doubly so" - The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
also this one,
"I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by." - Douglas Adams
What books are on your nightstand?
OK. I confess. I have a Georgette Heyer addiction.
On the bookcase and the floor next to my bed i have about 20 Georgette Heyer books. That's most of her Georgian & Regency romances.
The book pictured, I re-read a few nights ago. I'm now back on "The Convenient Marriage". I think my favourite would have to be "Devil's Cub" - the characters are quite cheeky and fresh.
Also in my book collection are Douglas Adams (Hitchhiker's trilogy & Dirk Gently), Greg Bear, various Nostradamus and quite a few sci-fi and fantasy series.
And that's just the fiction section. :)
