They even went into the oven at the right time. Zenophran's family came over and we ate and had lemon meringue pie. We opened presents and I kicked them out mid-afternoon :)
Then we went to my folks for tea. This involves yet more turkey and ham. AND PAVLOVA!

I think at this stage they are MIA. I bought a pack a few weekends ago with the intention of sending them off early.
They were still on my desk this morning until the boy stole them and gave them all to his friends.
I think I will have to use email :)

Last night, the family went out to dinner for my birthday. It was at a nice seafood buffet restaurant in the city.
I thought I knew everyone who was coming. But naturally, we had a gatecrasher.
At the end of dinner, the birthday cake was brought out and everyone (including total strangers) started singing. There was no where to hide - even the dalek abandoned me as a good place to hide!
So much for the diet! (Which, of course, was dutifully abandoned for the night) The cake is chocolate, covered in chocolate ganache (read chocolate + butter) , dark chocolate, strawberries and ferrero rocher.
Well, I did ask for chocolate cake!
